i had to get out of bed and hide in the bathroom because i couldn’t take it anymore.

the more i thought about it…. the worse it got; crying, uncontrollable shaking. and when the thought that he was dead. gone. not coming back. entered my head, i started throwing up.

ive never been this broken up about a death. ever.

rain11The boy, the man, the legend!

27 years ago today, June 25th, 2009, the stork carried an especially long baby to the doorstep of a welcoming mother and father. They named him Jung Ji-Hoon and watched him grow, while giving him a sister named Hana, to share his childhood with.

From the time he was young, Ji-hoon loved to dance. One day while he was in his home watching television, an American pop star by the name of Michael Jackson had a performance at Madison Square Garden, and as soon as Ji-hoon saw this he realized one thing:

He wanted to be an international pop star.

From then on, Ji-hoon went from agency to agency auditioning and became apart of a short-lived music group named Fan-club. When that group disbanded, Ji-hoon didn’t stop there—he was very determined. He continued to be turned down, claiming his singing ability wasn’t up to par and his looks were on the ugly side—or so he was told. It wasn’t until 2000, he auditioned fora top singer-gone-producer by the name of Park  Jin-young that he was finally given a break. Jin-young saw something in Ji-hoon that no one else did and decided to give him a chance.

At such a time that should be greatly celebrated, Ji-hoon had other worries on his mind.  Shortly after his singing with JYP Entertainment, his mother died of diabetes that same year. This devistated Ji-hoon, but it also gave him the drive and will to keep moving on, and make his mother in heaven proud of him.

Because of this incident, a dark cloud came over Ji-hoon, but this didn’t hurt his efforts—for he strived to get better and better in acting, dancing and singing—and Jin-young could see this cloud, this sadness… thats when he decided to give Ji-hoon a singing name—Rain.

Since his debut, Rain has released 5 Korean albums, 1 Japanese album, countless endorsements for countries like Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, Singapore, Malaysia and more; world tours including the USA; he’s appeared in an enormous array of magazines, commercials and the face of internationally known companies; he’s starred in 3 Korean dramas; he has his own clothing line—which is ready to go international online; his own record label and company by the name of J.Tune Entertainment; has starred in 1 Korean movie and 2 American films, Speed Racer and Ninja Assasin for which he will be the lead; and in a country where plastic surgery is as natural as breathing, Rain has managed to bring himself to a place where he is confident about his looks and has not altered one single feature on his body (even his nose, which he’s broken before).

He’s one of the hardest working people in the business and one of the most sucessful and still manages to stay humble, grounded without any media scandals and he doesn’t his money on every last thing he sees. Rain has promised us all, especially his Clouds that he will never plataeu and will always keep getting better. Just like in his song “My Way”, he says:

이 젠 모 두 listen
나 는 어 렸 을 적 에 굶 주 림 속 에 살 았 네
세 상 은 등 을 돌 리 고 나 는 스 스 로 날 지 켜 냈 어
희 망 을 잃 지 않  고 꿈 을 위 해 나 는 달 렸 지
손 을 뻗 친 한 사 람 , 그 건 이 내 시 작
하 고 싶 은 노 래 , 그 노 래 , 할 수 있 어 서
나 의 꿈 을 향 해 서 이 젠  my way
아 모 두 가 지 아노 는 그 길 을

Now everyone, listen.
When I was young, I lived in hunger
Society lost faith in me
I defended myself and I didn’t lose hope
I chased after my dream then someone gave a helping hand
That was my beginning, the song that I wanted to sing
The song I would sing
Towards my dream, my way
The path that no one goes down

Fanmades by me, below a gallery of some of my favorite Rain photos:

I have 250+ Rain pictures on my computer, all of his albums, “Full House” on DVDboth movies that have been released on DVD and 5 posters of Rain… and to be perfect honest with you, I have the same hair color Rain had during his Rainism comeback. Some people may call me loco, but I really do feel like the guy changed my life. Rain is who got me into Kpop, with his song “Sad Tango” (which I later realized was Japanese) and then the cuteness he was in his “I Do” music video—which I watched at least 15 times.

The best I can do for Rain is sit here and brag about him all day (and send him the gift I plan to send him), because I really do feel like I owe it all to him. If it wasn’t for Rain I might be interested in Chinese culture right now or not any asian culture right now… I’d be like every other American teenager. No matter how much anyone wants to make fun of him or me, it doesn’t change how I feel.

So I want to give Rain, my #1 with a bullet, a HUGE Happy 27th Birthday, and many, MANY MORE!!!!

riri snsdI don’t get on the internet for ONE day and I miss so much! SS501 MV release, album controveries, Big Bang photoshoots (YUM!) and most importantly… SNSD’s comeback song (though… weren’t they always here?).

Anyway, the ex-band geek that I am, I couldn’t HELP but notice the similarities between Rihanna’s “Don’t Stop the Music” and SNSD’s just released single, “Genie.”

Now I’m a fan of both songs, but one cannot deny the resemblance in them. They have the same rhythmic patterns, instruments as well as the clapping sound effects. I mean, obviously, Rihanna’s version came out before theirs, so I’m forced to say its copying. I made a video where I combined the music together and blended them so you can see the similarities easier.

Ah well, it’s not going to make me like the song any less, so I better get used to it, considering it’s going ot be everywhere, as well zillions of covers, renditions as well as performances in the very near future.

My only quarell with SNSD is that now, this mean DBSK comeback (and theirs actually WILL BE a comeback) will be that much farther away TT__TT

On the Forever 21 website, this shirt is not listed amongst the other liscensed shirts with celebrities on the shirts. For example, in the licensed shirt section, there is a shirt with Jimi Hendrix shirt and the name of the shirt is, obviously, “Jimi Hendrix shirt.” Since the shirt is not with the other licensed tees, I technically can’t say it is the wonder girls, even though it obviously is.

The Wonder Girls shirt on the other hand is called “Window Shopping Tee” even though obviously it has the girls on it, and the pictures prove it.

Even though I don’t like the Wonder Girls, I still plan on getting the shirt lol… gotta support K-pop artists no matter what! I plan to get it on tomorrow….
