twilightmovieposter(CAUTION: “Twilight” Spoilers!)

So, for someone who’s read the first Twilight 3 times, I’m a bit surprised at myself that I waited till just a few hours ago to see the movie, but hey—what’s the rush?

Anyway, so I went to see “Twilight” and for the most part, I would say that I heard good reviews about it. I mean, months ago when I saw who was playing who, I was a little disappointed—I’m sure we all were (we being those who read the book). I mean, we all had different ideas of what Edward, Bella and The Cullens would look like. Though as the movie started to progress (even though I felt it went a little too fast) I felt comfortable with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson…though I am SOO glad (always was!) with their choice not to have any big-name stars in the movie—it would’ve killed the story.

Honestly, the only problem I had with the whole movie is the way it was directed. It was filmed in real-life kind of camera movements, like you’re watching a drama. I more would’ve rather had it like how Harry Potter is. I loved though how all the color tones of the movie were very dark, and the sets were beautiful (though the first forrest scene was a little too beautiful, it was unbelievable [not in the good way]). I also remember the book specifically describing the Cullens house as an old-style, traditional mansion…no?

I also feel that the way they acted was wierd—Bella was way too stiff and so was Edward. I know Edward is a bit uptight but he’s not stiff. And by stiff, I mean, just watching him I felt stiff myself.

I liked how the movie unfolded however, it was pretty true to the book fortunately, and it almost felt like I was reading the book for a 4th time—it felt like I was turning the pages in my head as I watched the screen. And now I’m totally in lurvvee with Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory has grown up!) and Taylor Lautner, even though he wasn’t in the movie that much.

Dang, sorry for the long review! Anyway, “Twilight” get 5 starfruit!5-starfruit
